WMAG: World Martial Arts Games

WMAGC TO JOIN WORLD STAGE

The World Martial Arts Games Committee will take part in the 4th Busan TAFISA World Sport for All Games, September 26 to October 2, 2008 in Busan, South Korea. The 4th TAFISA World Sport for All Games will feature over 10,000 participants and over 3,000,000 spectators. The event is being held under the patronage of the IOC, UNESCO, WHO, KOC and SOSFO.

WMAGC DIRECTOR CO-FOUNDS GLOBAL INITIATIVE

WMAGC Director Carl Emery and long-time friend Billy Murray have established the ‘Kickboxing for Peace Initiative’. The official announcement took place at the UNICEF Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland and both gentlemen were joined by array of diplomats, senior politicians and international press. Irish President Mary McAleese sent a personal message of support to the launch.

TAFISA CONGRESS APPROVES WMAGC

The TAFISA General Assembly has unanimously approved the WMAGC’s status as an Active International Member of TAFISA. The decision came at the 20th TAFISA World Congress Annual Meeting held in Buenos Aires, Argentina September 30, 2007. During the same congress, WMAGC Chairman Ken Marchtaler was selected as the North American Director for the newly formed Pan American Sport for All Association regional body of TAFISA.
